User Experience Design
Would you build a house without architectural schematics or a proper foundation? – It’s a question we most often ask organizations when web project plans pervasively focus on design.
It’s not because we don’t think branding’s important! Rather, it’s because we know that people visit websites to complete specific tasks: find information, use web applications, or share experiences. Sure, design helps to provide context, but so does the structural integrity of the site itself!
How you organize the information on your website impacts everything else – navigation, search engine marketing, conversion, and …yes, we concede, even branding!
When we talk about the skeletons of a website we’re not talking about corporate secrets behind a closed firewall!
A website needs a good bone structure in order for people to find everything they need, whenever they need it. Stripping away the design and technology elements of a website lets us focus on what truly matters …organizing and creating content that is of value to a website’s target audience.
Wireframes encourage organizations to concentrate on the content and labeling requirements of a website before the web design process begins. At i.a. consultants, we facilitate wireframe discussions, make recommendations, and finalize wireframe iterations so that you can be sure your website’s navigation, structure, and content will stand up in the face of changing technology and design over the long term.
Not to flog the skeleton analogy…but we like to think of it as a website’s life insurance policy!
